Week 3: Types of roads within and outside the school
Week 4: Walking along the road and crossing the road
Week 5: Soil and water; other parts of the surrounding (soil water and air).
Week 6: Colour (identification); colours of objects
Week 7: Road traffic signs
Week 8: Road making
Week 9: living things: (i) meaning of living things (ii) living things in the school environment
Week 10; living things in the home
SECOND TERM SCHEME OF WORK FOR BASIC SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PRIMARY 1
Week 1: Revision of last term work
Week 2: Non-living things; (I) meaning of non-living things (ii) non-living things in the classroom, school and at home.
Week 3: Simple machines; meaning of simple machines
Week 4: Device that makes work easy example, broom, spoon seesaw/swing, hoe cutlass e t c.
Week 5: Safe use of simple machines
Week 6: Energy; meaning of energy as exemplified by people doing some work
Week 7: Example of things that use energy
Week 8: Moving our body parts; demonstrates the technique in locomotion movement
Week 9: Supervises the pupil and offer assistance
THIRD TERM SCHEME OF WORK FOR BASIC SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PRIMARY 1
Week 1: Revision of last term’s work
Week 2: Safety rules
Week 3: Health and hygiene; (1) general body cleanliness in washing hands, bathing and care of the skin, teeth brushing, chewing sticks, toothbrush and paste.
Week 4: General body cleanliness and cutting of nails hair maintenance and footwear
Week 5: Benefits of cleanliness
Week 6: First aid; meaning of first aid
Week 7: Objectives of first aid; (1) arrest bleeding to save life
Week 8: Objectives of first aid; (2) prevent injury from becoming worse.
Week 9: Contents of first aid box
