For plants to adapt to water drought, or excess water environment, plants are either :
1) Xerophytes
Plants that survive in dry environment by containing features that prevent water loss e.g Cactus, date-palm, Pineapple, Casuarina, Opuntia, Acacia, and oleander
2) Hydrophytes
Plants which live in water and adjust with their surroundings. e.g water lily, water hyacinth, duckweed, and various pondweeds
3) Mesophytes
Plants that grows in an environment having a moderate supply of water e.g corn (maize), cucurbits, privet, lilac, goldenrod, clover, and oxeye daisy
