Meaning of orderliness:

Orderliness is a condition where things follow a laid down procedure. it is the art of doing thing in a peaceful orderly fashion. It is the art by which things are arranged in a proper, neat and systematic manner.

Events and activities in life take turn to produce desired effect .Commitment to allow and observe the

proper and acceptable sequence of events without disruption is known as orderliness

In nature things follow pattern which bring about harmony, beauty and expected advancement. The truth is that without orderliness, everything will be in chaos, driving on the road, flying in the air, navigating on the high sea, all involve orderliness.

Take for instance, in our educational system there is need for the government to provide structure, pay the educational personnel, and retrain staff. equip the school with modern teaching learning facilities and provide security, social amenities and health insurance scheme, the adult members of the society are to pay their correct taxes ,education levies and dues and to assist in security maintenance and policy formulation .

They are to ensure that their children are well fed , kept neat and provided for. On the hand the children are to be punctual to school .show learning commitment, obey directives from our parents and teachers and study hard .Teachers on their own are to teach following the time schedule, right curriculum content and methodology, apply good classroom management and control

Examples of orderliness

1. Listening skills.-: understanding and relating have to do with a well ordered listening skills. Paying attention is orderliness which results in understanding affective communication and social cohesion. Noise disorganizes communication and causes misunderstanding or even failure.

2: A good driving skill –: An individual who has acquired the driving skills will have to obey the traffic rule and regulation which means the person is orderly.

3: decorum in habit, relation and action . This is to refers to the manner of speech or appearance or behavior of an individual. A person has acquired orderliness ,if the individual has acquired decorum .

This means that the person has decency in the manner of speech ,dressing and considerate of others , examples a student who has decorum is polite to the staff and students of his or her school . The student will dress properly in clean and neat uniform with buckled sandals. She or he will not be seen loitering while lessons are going on the class in the classroom.

4: Queuing every individual has to queue up to obtain everything being distributed in a public place. Examples serving of food in the dinning hall , getting services from the bank , paying for purchased item in shops ,fetching of water from the public tap queuing services also means getting services from service in procedure in turn

5. Taking our case to the police ,court rather than taking the law into our hands or engaging in destruction , fight and quarrel

Roles of orderliness

The roles of orderliness in the society cannot be over emphasized : These roles the includes the following

1: correcting young ones patiently in whatever they do. Do not correct young ones impatiently or harshly when then they are wrong because everyone makes mistake . Beside correction given patiently attracts respects from the younger ones and ensure that mistaken is not repeated

2. Orderliness enable you to train people around you. For instance the teacher in a school teach their lesson in an orderly manner . When the is teacher is teaching nobody talks unless during the question and answer session

3 . When an individual is orderly in his or her behavior , manner of speech and dressing one exhibit good example to people to follow suit .Whenever there more than one person to be attended to in a public places, you can insist on queuing to avoid rush and chaos and people will cooperate with you

4. Orderliness enhances the concentration of people to execute their duties or work without distraction thereby achieving the set objectives tor the day .

5.There is increase in the speed of executing the assigned duty or work when

orderliness reigns.

6. Naturally there is orderliness in the scheme of things for instance, the sun shines in the day and gives way for the moon at night.

7. Orderliness ensure peace.

8. It encourage co-operation.

9. Orderliness train the mind to accept social value.

10. Orderliness is a fanatic for assessing actions where orderliness can be observed.

Orderliness is societal value and virtue. It is expected to be observed in the home and public places for smooth running of the school. The church preach and maintain order and also mosque. Religion insist on order because God loves orderliness.

Orderliness as a virtue and value rest on the following:

1. Sacrifice: One is expected to sacrifice his or her time, convenience, interest, emotion and instincts.

2. Patience: orderliness demands patience which means waiting for ones time and turn.

3.Obedience: Doing what you are asked to do especially keeping to rules and directives brings about orderliness.

4. Love and Patriotism: Love for the good of the society, for well being of others and for peace.

5. Understanding: Orderliness demands the understanding of others interest.

6. Peaceful co-existence: Orderliness cannot be realized in a chaotic situation, strife, hatred and disobedience. Except the is peace there would be no order in society.

Six ways of exhibiting orderliness in the society:

(i) Decorum in habits, relations, actions, programmes at the bus stop.

(ii) Queuing Culture by obeying rules that promotes orderliness like queuing at the ATM points.

(iii) Obeying traffic regulations or rules when driving.

(iv) Listening skills and politeness in the public.

(v) Tolerance of oppositions i.e, tolerating opposing views, religions and social critics.

(vi) Due process and justice; allowing thing to follow their proper order.
